An option to specify a top, left or right binding margin is available as standard with all models and some also offer a centre d20 option. This feature is not available when the printer is accessed over a network or is used as a shared printer.
Standard booklet print option You can create a booklet by printing pages 1 and 4 on the first sheet of paper, pages 5 and 8 on the second sheet, and pages 1d20 and 12 on the third sheet. After you reload these sheets into the sheet feeder, you can then print pages 2 and 3 on the back of the first sheet of paper, pages 6 and 7 on the back of the second sheet, and pages 10 and 11 on the back of the third sheet.
The printed pages can then be folded and bound together into a booklet.
Open the Printing Preferences dialog for your printer to access the print settings. Depending on your application, you may need to click one or a combination of these buttons.
For help, see the following article: How to change or reset the default printer driver settings Windows. On the Main tab, select one of the following Quality Option settings: Then select plain papers as the Type setting, the Size setting, and the Orientation setting as appropriate.
Select Portrait tall or Landscape wide to change the orientation of your print out. When you select Portrait as the Orientation setting, the Left or Right binding positions are available. The Top binding position is available when you select Landscape as the Orientation setting. If your product has more than one paper path or paper cassette tray, make sure you e120 an appropriate Source setting.
For example, select Front Tray if paper is loaded from the front, or select Cassette 1 or Cassette 2 if your product has multiple paper cassette trays. Select the Page Layout tab. Under 2-sided printingclick the radio button beside On to enable the option.
Then click into the checkbox beside Folded Booklet. Next, click on the Margins button. If an option for On is not available, select Auto or Manual instead. Then click into the checkbox beside Folded Booklet and click on the Settings button.
Select your preferred Binding Edge option for your booklet. This will specify the edge of the paper where the binding will be placed. Choose cm or inch as the Unit setting. Then specify the width of the binding margin.
You can enter any width from 0. Then click OK to return to the Page Layout window. The specified margin width will be used on both sides of the fold. For example, if you specify a 1 cm margin, you will get a 2 cm margin a margin of 1 cm will be placed on each side of the fold.
The actual binding margin may be different from the specified settings depending on your application. Experiment with a few c120 to examine actual results before printing the entire job. Select one of the Select Document Type settings. If you are printing high-density data on plain paper by automatic 2-sided printing, set the Select Document Type setting either to Text with Photo or to Photo in the Print Density Adjustment window.
Load paper into the paper cassette, then send the print job from your application. Follow the on-screen instructions when reloading the printouts. Otherwise, paper may jam or the binding margins may be incorrect. Once the paper is reloaded, click Resume to print the inside pages. Once printing is complete, fold the sheets and bind them together using a stapler or other maunal method. Some models have a Center Binding option that can be used to print documents you wish to bind at the centre as with a traditional booklet.
Cleaning the Print Head
The paging on a centre-bound document starts with the first and last page and works its way espon the middle the paging must be divisible by 4. For example, a page document would be numbered as follows: This allows you to create A5 booklets easily with A4 paper. Simply fold the pages to A5 format and then bind the documents to turn it into a booklet. This feature is not available for all models. Refer to your user’s guide for information.
